We use the same great RTV silicone that is sold under well known brands for twice the price. 11106 SERIES-100% RTV SILICONE HI-TEMP RED is a high quality, single-component, 100% silicone sealant. It is oxygen sensor safe. It is your best choice for use in automotive and industrial gasketing applications. It is ideally suited for use in high heat applications such as auto and diesel engines, sealing and encapsulating heating elements in appliances, aerospace gasketing, moving oven belts, industrial ovens, bag filters on smoke stacks, other critical bonding, sealing, potting, encapsulating and protective coatings where parts must perform at high temperatures. Can be used as an adhesive for bonding surfaces together. Adheres to metal, glass, marble, tile, ceramic, porcelain, painted surfaces, non-oily woods, and rubber.

When used as a formed-in-place gasket (where no conventional gasket is available) we recommend letting the repair cure overnight to avoid potential blow-out of the sealant when pressure is applied. Although this is our highest temperature sealant it should not be used as a replacement for traditional exhaust flange gaskets in modern engines. Use the appropriate conventional exhaust manifold gasket for these applications. Do not use with rubber o-rings or in hydraulic fittings where high pressures are present. Do not use RTV silicones to seal gasoline tanks, diesel fuel tanks or anywhere the sealant will be exposed to constant immersion in petroleum fuels.

Important note: Paint will not adhere to silicone sealant but silicone sealant will adhere to most painted surfaces. Always paint first and then seal. Make sure the paint has had time to dry completely before applying silicone sealant.
